Gemma Sisia
Gemma Sisia was born Gemma Rice at Guyra, near Armidale in northern New South Wales, one of eight children.
She first travelled to Africa as a young teacher, working in Uganda for two years, during which time she met her future husband, Richard Sisia, a Tanzanian safari driver.
She lives in Moshono, Tanzania with Richard and their two children.
