Danny Allen is nervous. He didn't want to leave the farm or his life in Mundowie. But when the bank took the farm, he and his family had no choice. They had to find another life.
But life in the city frightens Danny. There are no open skies, only patches visible from deep city canyons of concrete, steel and glass, and there's no secret hideout by the creek in which he can seek sanctuary. And to make matters worse he has to share a room with his little sister Vicki and older brother Sam.
And he doesn't trust the people in the neighbourhood, like the man in the shop across the street or the old woman always shuffling around like a shadow. Danny is sure they're up to no good, but what will it take to uncover the amazing truth? And, more importantly, will Danny Allen ever find his place again?
Phil Cummings is the youngest of eight children and grew up in Port Broughton, South Australia.
