Author Information

Mem is passionate about literacy and its development. Half her life, until the end of 1996, was spent teaching literacy studies at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia. She is also internationally known as the author of many books for children including Possum Magic, Wombat Divine, Wilfrid Gordon MacDonald Partridge, Koala Lou and Time for Bed. Mem Fox is a fulltime writer and a highly regarded international literacy consultant. Mem has been presented with several major awards including the Dromkeen Medal for distinguished services to children's literature, an Advance Australia Award for her outstanding contribution to Australian literature and an AM in the 1993 Australia Day Honours awards.
